It's rare that an album hits me so personally. I come from a family of multiple generations of coal miners, and some of which were involved in the Coal Wars and the protests. Also, as a folk and blackmetal fan, the album feels almost as if it was made for me personally, as a love letter to my family before me, and everyone who lived and struggled in the Appalachian mines. Incredible, beautiful, and special record like none other.
